Suggestion:  Make the outcome inventive and fun. 

 

Imagine you are staging a gathering or a dinner party.  You will invite two artists from two different periods in time.

Choose a concept and ask each artist what it means to them.  (Examples: Originality, Individuality, Value , Gender)

​

Ask the Artists to explain the use of their materials and the decisions they made whilst creating two of their artworks. Make them explain it to you using the language of Art Elements and Principles.

​

Record this conversation as either:

a drawn comic strip

a digital slide presentation

a theatrical script

​

Extra details: 

What did the Artists argue about?

What meal did you cook them?

Did they both enjoy it?

Would you invite them back again?

OUTCOME 3. Interpreting ideas and use of materials and techniques 

For this outcome you will discuss the practice of artists from different times and cultures, their sources of inspiration, and the materials and techniques used for at least two artworks by each.

You may take two artists featured in this site's gallery as your starting point . Find a second work by each artist and begin.
