BROOKE ANDREW

WHO?

WHEN?

HOW?

WHERE?

WHY?

WHAT?

Brooke Andrews draws on his mixed Indigenous, Scottish and Irish heritage to conflate traditional indigenous and western art perspectives.   The coming together of these seemingly unconnected aspects is known as juxtaposition and it highlights the dominance of western colonial modes of thinking and exploitation of indigenous cultures.

He uses art to explore the role of the indigenous person in a world that they never asked for and the pain and difficulty of adaptation.
